The Spaces for People team has published plans to create a segregated cycle lane on Melville Drive, the main thoroughfare through the Meadows.

As well as this they will remove the guardrails near crossings in an effort to create more space.

The team say that the design minimises conflict between cars, cyclists and pedestrians. The design has been sent to stakeholders such as community councils for a five day consultation in terms of the Covid-19 emergency response measures. Any comments should be added to the Spaces for People website by Friday 24 July 2020 at 5pm. spacesforpeople@edinburgh.gov.uk

After any refinement the proposals will then be put in place under a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order.
