Challenge Cup: Dundee Stars 0, Fife Flyers 2
Fife Flyers bounced back from a home defeat by to make it a pointless weekend for Dundee Stars.
The Kirkcaldy combine, who lost 3-2 at home to Glasgow Clan on Saturday, registered their first Challenge Cup points with a 2-0 success on Tayside.
The goals came in the final session of a tight game and it was Chase Schaber who broke the deadlock after only 55 seconds of the final session.
He was set up by James Livingston and Kyle Just and the clincher arrived only 39 seconds from time.
Danick Gauthier provided the finishing touch to a pass from Michal Gutwald after Stars playcaller Omar Pacha gambled.
He withdrew his netminder to give Stars six skaters but the move backfired and Fife travelled home with their first Challenge Cup points.
However, Pacha’s men will need to regroup after the weekend which started badly with a 3-1 defeat at Manchester Storm in the Elite League.
