BBC Scotland’s bakery series Flour Power is coming to Edinburgh tomorrow night, with its sixth episode in its ten-part run featuring Edinburgh-based homelessness charity Cyrenians.

The series features workmates from a different part of the country each week, who put their baking to the test in the Flour Power challenge.

In this episode Flour Power is in Edinburgh at Cyrenians featuring senior relationship Manager Ali, experienced charity cook Noura and Assistant Key Worker Davie are all desperate to beat the big boss, Ewan Aitken.

In a workplace with a huge baking culture there’s no chance of these four competitive colleagues slacking off, as they each aim to win the Flour Power trophy.

Ewan is baking a wholemeal loaf with sundried tomatoes and mixed seeds and hopes it packs a flavoursome punch. Noura, from Syria, is using a traditional recipe to make baklava, whilst Ali gets to grips with her chocolate sponge cake.

Davie is also going full-on chocolate with some ‘gooey’ brownies, but all hope to wow guest judge award-winning baker Michelle Phillips. She joins resident judge Nichola Reith to scrutinise these sweet and savoury treats.
