Neil Lennon’s assistant Garry Parker is ‘sure’ that Hibs have the players to turn their season around after a disappointing run of results, culminating with a 3-0 defeat to on-form Kilmarnock on Saturday.
These results have seen Hibs drop into the bottom six after a fine start to the season but Parker is looking to kick start the campaign with victory over St Mirren at Easter Road tonight.
Hibs go into the game without influential captain David Gray who is still struggling with injury.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference yesterday, Parker said: “We’re struggling for confidence defensively and we’re not scoring goals. There’s a lack of confidence all round, you can see it, but I think against St Mirren we’ll be fine.
“We’re at home and we need to go and attack and try and score goals and win a game of football.
“I’m sure we’ll turn it around, in fact I know we will. They’re a good bunch of lads, they know they’re making mistakes. But they need to go and play with no fear, express themselves and entertain.
“We trained yesterday and today, kept it nice and short, had a bit of fun with them to lift them up because they are good players low on confidence at the moment. But nothing that a win wouldn’t put right.
“It has gone on too long, four or five weeks since we have won a game so it’s about time we put it right. It’s our job to get the players performing again.”
