Around 30 firefighters spent over seven hours tackling a huge blaze at Badabing Italian Restaurant in Fountainbridge which started shortly after 2am this morning.
The restaurant was empty at the time and an investigation is underway to establish the cause.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We were alerted at 2.10am to reports of a building fire in Edinburgh.
“Operations control mobilised a number of appliances and 30 firefighters were called to tackle the fire.
“We don’t know exactly where the fire started but it was in the bar and restaurant.
“It doesn’t look like any other properties were affected.”
