Two Edinburgh charities have been presented with surprise funding of up to £10,000, through People’s Postcode Lottery’s community programmes trusts thanks to support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

The charities were selected by employees of the lottery after their annual team building day saw the top teams choose one local good cause each. They then visited the charities to present them with surprise cheques.

Kids Love Clothes, who provide much needed clothing to struggling families in the Lothians, received £10,000 and Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home received £4,000.

Run entirely by volunteers, Kids Love Clothes provides a wardrobe of clean, ironed and seasonally appropriate clothes to disadvantaged children aged up to 10 years across Edinburgh and the Lothians. The charity receives referrals from healthcare professionals and social workers and since being founded in 2015 has helped to clothe over 3,000 children.
