Police are appealing for witnesses following the high-value theft of vehicles from two homes in Gorebridge.

Around 3.20am on Wednesday 30th May a property in Louis Braille Way was entered and keys to a blue Peugeot 206 and grey Volkswagen Polo were stolen along with a quantity of cash.

Both cars were then also taken, with the Polo later recovered in Clearburn Road.

The Peugeot, which has registration number KN16 HBD remains outstanding and anyone who has seen it since the early hours of Wednesday morning is asked to come forward.

A break-in was then reported at an address in Whitehouse Grove at around 7am on the same day resulting in a grey Audi A6 and a white Renault Transit Panel van were stolen along with two trial bikes.

The Audi has registration number BG66 OVN and the Renault van has registration number SA57 OSM.

Officers are currently working to establish if these incidents are linked and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Jordan Sharp from Musselburgh CIU said: “Given the time these incidents occurred, and the proximity of the addresses, we are looking at whether the same individuals are responsible.

“We would ask that anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around either Louis Braille Way, or Whitehouse Grove, on Wednesday morning, to contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone who knows the whereabouts of any of the stolen vehicles, or can help us establish their movements since Wednesday, should also get in touch.”

Those with information can contact Dalkeith CID via 101 and quote incident numbers 413 (Louis Braille Way) or 594 (Whitehouse Grove) of the 30th May. Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
