Elite League: Braehead Clan 4, Edinburgh Capitals 3; Fife Flyers 6, Dundee Stars 7 (after penalty shots)

Braehead Clan edged bottom club Edinburgh Capitals but they had to come from 3-2 behind to earn a 4-3 victory before a 3,200-plus crowd in Glasgow.

The sides were level at 2-2 after the middles session, Michal Gutwald and Adam Brace scoring for Clan and Denis Trakhanov and Mike Cazzola netting for the visitors.

Pavel Vorobyev fired Capitals ahead after 42 minutes but two goals in seven minutes from Ryan Potulny and a second from Brace less than four minutes from time secured the points.

At Kirkcaldy, Malcolm Gould kept his cool to slot home a penalty shot last and earn Dundee Stars a 7-6 victory at arch rivals Fife Flyers after a sensational third-period comeback.

Earlier, Fife led 2-1, 4-1 and 5-2 but Dundee rallied and claimed four goals in 13 third-period minutes.

Marc-Oliver Mimar scored short-handed to put them 6-5 ahead with less than five minutes left.

Danick Gauthier levelled on Stars empty net after, they withdrew their netminder to have six skaters, with 1min 17sec left.

The sides could not be separated after sudden-death overtime but Gould won the game for Dundee after a shootout.
