Berwick Bandits continued their recent good form by edging play-off contenders Edinburgh Monarchs in the Borders.

The league bottom-markers won 49-41 despite 12 points from Monarchs’ German racer Erik Riss.

John Campbell, Monarchs’ co-promoter, admitted the loss of skipper Sam Masters through injury cost his side.

He added that Monarchs did well to come close as they only had four race winners on the night.

In the West of Scotland, skipper Aaron Summers top scored with 16 points from six rides as Glasgow Tigers stung struggling Scunthorpe Scorpions 55-37 at Ashfield.

Richard Lawson was next best with 12 points in the comfortable win with Lewis Kerr top scored for the visitors with 12 points.
