The Scottish SPCA celebrated their 10th annual Scottish Animal Week earlier this month and ended the celebrations with a community open day at their centre in Edinburgh.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity was overwhelmed by the support shown from local businesses, vendors and supporters who attended the event.

Edinburgh Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre Manager Diane Aitchison said, “The open day was a huge success. With the support from our local community we raised a fantastic £7,599.67 from our open days across Scotland.

“We are so grateful for all the support shown to us, from donations of raffle prizes to those who made baked goods to sell on the day.

“During the day we had a raffle and introduced people to our resident animals who are looking for new forever homes. It was heart-warming to see the whole community come out and support us.”

The Scottish SPCA receive no government or lottery funding. To find out more about fundraising for the Scottish SPCA visit: https://www.scottishspca.org/support/
