Neil Lennon was happy with his players’ performance against St Johnstone yesterday despite not securing all three points after dominating the game with 64% possession.
For the fifth game in succession, Hibs fell behind but they drew level thanks to an own goal by Paul Paton after some good work by Simon Murray.
From then it was one way traffic with Hibs creating chance after chance but the Saints held on to secure a share of the points.
After the game Lennon said: “ I’m very, very happy, despite not winning the game. We matched them physically and the football we played at times was outstanding.
“It was pretty similar to the way we played against Dundee, but to come here and play as well as that, against a team that are street-wise and battle-hardened, is great.
“To be fair to St Johnstone they defend very well at times and don’t give much away but we cut them open at will at times and if we had shown a bit more composure we would have won the game.
“The application and attitude of the players is fantastic and they’re brave in trying to play the game the right way.
“I don’t think we’re getting what we deserve at the moment, based on performances. That’s two games away from home where we’ve totally dominated the game, and the football is good.
“We will play worse and win games. It was only one half against Hamilton at home where we haven’t reached the standards we set.”
