Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that they despatched four fire appliances and one height applicance to the Gloucester Place area this afternoon where they are still dealing with a fire.
It appears from neighbours that a loud bang was heard from the area just before the fire began in the building to the rear of the Nira Caledonia Hotel.

There are approximately 20 firefighters there responding to an emergency call which came in just before 3.00pm.
