There was more good news for Hibs fans today with the announcement that popular defender Liam Fontaine has signed a one year contract extension.
The centre-back joined Hibernian in 2014/15 and has played 98 times during his spell at Easter Road Stadium, scoring four times.
Fontaine has contributed to the side’s successes in winning the William Hill Scottish Cup in 2016 and the Ladbrokes Championship during the 2016/17 season and has been a key figure in the Hibernian defence over the past three seasons.
He also scored Hibs’ goal in the League Cup Final defeat to Ross County.
Fontaine missed the latter part of the season due to injury but was at Easter Road on the last day of the season to join in the celebrations.
