Elite Pro Dance are so good they look like Americans!

They were a fabulous addition to the Tartan Week Parade last Saturday in downtown Manhattan. Only formed in 2014 they are a squad of about 30 championship cheerleaders, dancers and gymnasts who perform at a range of events across the country.

If they had not been in New York on Saturday then they might have been at the Melrose Sevens. Often they appear at Murrayfield for the RBS Six Nations and Edinburgh Rugby matches.

They will be rehearsing now for the upcoming Airshow at East Fortune in July and they partner with PoppyScotland too.

All of the squad have full time jobs from accountancy to healthcare and teaching and so combine twice weekly rehearsals with busy lives.

They only contacted the New York Tartan Week committee last year and since they were warmly welcomed they booked their flights and off they went!

Rosie Lind, Manager Elite Pro Dance, told The Edinburgh Reporter : “It was such a wonderful experience, not only meeting the Tartan Week Committee but engaging with so many Scots who had travelled for the Parade!

“Surreal as it was walking down 6th Avenue with the squad, we loved every minute and the memories will stay with us forever!”
