Edinburgh Capitals coach Michal Dobron must regroup ahead of back-to-back, pre-Christmas games at high-flying Belfast Giants this week.
The Murrayfield men cross the Irish Sea on Thursday for an Elite League fixture on tonight and another on Friday (both 7:00pm).
A total of 16 points separate second-placed Belfast with Edinburgh who prop up the ten-strong Elite League table with 17 points from 20 games.
Capitals lost Sunday’s visit to fellow-strugglers Dundee Stars 10-3 but Giants are on a five-game winning streak including Sunday’s 3-0 road success at Coventry Blaze.
Belfast, however, entertain Manchester Storm in the second-leg of the quarter-final of the Challenge Cup on Wednesday with the score at 3-3 from the first-leg in England.
Capitals have not played since Sunday but Giants will not want to slip up against the Scots as they chase down runaway league pace-setters Cardiff Devils who are eight points ahead but the Northern Irish side have two games in hand.
