Hibs’ Head Coach Neil Lennon is not concerned about extending the gap between his team and Dundee United when the sides meet at Easter Road this afternoon as there is still a lot of football to be played.
United along with Hibs were favourites for automatic promotion, but Ray McKinnon’s side have yet to hit the form expected from them and Lennon thinks that they will be trying to prove a point.
Speaking ahead of the game, Lennon told Hibernian Media: “It’s just another game to win regardless of the gaps between the teams – we’re only seven games into the season. There’s a lot of football to be played yet.
“My whole focus is just on winning and trying to win well and create the volume of chances we’ve been creating. We’ve kept four clean sheets in five games, which is very good consistency.
“Dundee United will come here to try and prove a point and we are trying to prove a point to everyone else, we want to be the best team in the division, we can do that by beating Dundee United.”
Meanwhile new signing Neal Eardley says that he is looking to utilise his experience, hard work and determination to help the club should he be involved.
Speaking to Hibs TV, he said: “I’m very lucky to have played in the top-flight in England and in the second tier for several years. Hopefully that experience is something that I can bring.
“That experience, along with the hard work that I will put in and determination day-in day-out, which is something that we all need, and that’s something that I would definitely look to bring if I’m involved.”
