Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in Livingston on Saturday, September 10th.
At around 8:40pm a 28-year-old man parked his car outside the EQHQ nightclub in Almondside when two unknown males approached the vehicle as he sat inside and asked to be driven to the Livingston Village.
He refused resulting in one of the suspects punching the window. The man then drove off in order to get away from the suspects but returned a short time later believing both had left the area.
However, when he stepped out of his car he was punched in the head by one of the suspects while the other attempted to hold his arms.
The victim was struck several times in the head and body and was later taken by ambulance to St John’s Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Anyone who can help identify them is asked to come forward.
Detective Constable Christopher Kay based in Livingston said: “Today, I want to hear from anyone who was in the area of the EQHQ nightclub on the night in question and who saw this incident or who can help identify either suspect.
“This was a completely unnecessary and violent attack, which has resulted in an innocent man requiring hospital treatment.
“This sort of criminal behaviour is unacceptable and I’m extremely keen to ensure those responsible are swiftly arrested.”
Anyone with information that can assist the ongoing investigation is asked to contact Police Scotland 101 or alternatively an anonymous report can be made through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
