2011_10 Police signs 12

Officers investigating the suspicious incident at the Central Mosque have now released a description of the suspect as a result of ongoing inquiries.

The individual is described as a white male believed to be in his early thirties with very short hair, a short-sleeved black top with a white emblem on the front and dark trousers.

Prior to the offence, it is believed the male spoke with a group of females in George Square, near to the junction with the Meadows and these witnesses are urged to come forward and assist officers with their investigation.

A number of cars and vehicles are known to have driven past the mosque during the incident and any motorists, or other members of the public, who remember seeing anything suspicious in the area, should contact police immediately.
