Hibs’ long serving left back Lewis Stevenson has recharged his batteries during the international break  and is keen to see the club embark on another good run of form, beginning with Saturday’s trip to Paisley to take on St Mirren.

With Rangers almost certainly winning the title, the battle is on for second place between Hibs and Falkirk and Stevenson is determined that the Easter Road side will succeed.

The Bairns are six points in front at the moment although Hibs have three games in hand, including a home fixture against Falkirk later this month so second place is likely to go to the wire.

Whoever finishes in second place will avoid the play off quarter finals which could prove to be the difference between gaining promotion to the top flight or not.

Speaking to Hibs TV, Stevenson  said: “Mentally and physically we really needed a break. It’s been a tough few months and it’s a time to refresh and recharge the batteries for what will be a massive April for us.

“I just chilled out and spent time with the family and had a couple of days at St Andrews, nothing exotic.

“It will be tough against St Mirren on Saturday. It’s a good pitch where we can get the ball down and play our football without having to worry about the state of the pitch so we are all looking forward to it.

“St Mirren will be decent, they have picked up in recent weeks and I am sure that they fancy their chances as well.

they have good players with a mixture of youth and experience and players who have played at the top level so we know it will be a tough game.

“We want to finish second in the league and we have to go to places like Paisley and get the three points.

“We need to get a good run going. Overall this season it’s been a great season with a couple of great runs in the cups and for the most part our form has been good.

“In the last few matches we’ve not had the result that we wanted, but we just hope that it’s a minor blip and hopefully we can start April with a win and get on a good run of form again.”
