Two more men have been charged as part of an investigation into reset and drug offences in the capital.
On Wednesday 23rd March detectives from the Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit carried out searches at an address in Peacocktail Close and a rented unit at The Whisp where various items of stolen property including vehicles, tools and building supplies were recovered from within.
Officers also seized a quantity of cannabis and the men aged 27 and 24 were due to appear in court on Thursday 24th March.
As a result of follow-up inquiries, further search activity was carried out at addresses in Niddrie Marischall Road, Cleekim Drive and Yardheads last week.
A number of power tools, kitchen fittings and plumbing equipment were then seized from inside.
In total, the value of the items recovered is in excess of £10,000.
Two 29-year-old men have now been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for reset and drugs supply.
They will appear in court at a later date.
Detective Inspector Graeme Naysmith from East OCCTU said: “We believe that the items recovered during this latest activity would have been sold to fund organised criminal activity within Edinburgh.
“We are delighted to have seized these goods, as it helps us put a significant dent in the operation of these crime groups.
“Once again these arrests should send as a clear reminder that criminal activity will not be tolerated and we will dedicate all the necessary resources at our disposal to bring anyone involved in offences of this nature to justice.
“The public can help us tackle organised crime by reporting any information they have to Police Scotland on 101 or by making an anonymous call to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
