Hibs will face Ross County in the final of the Scottish League Cup presented by Utilita on March 13th at Hampden Park.

Alan Stubbs’ men progressed to the final with a victory over St Johnstone at Tynecastle yesterday and County created a massive shock  this afternoon  by beating 10-man Celtic in a frenetic  semi-final at the national stadium.

Celtic got off to a flying start when Gary Mackay-Steven scored after only 26 seconds,  but the turning point came when Efe Ambrose was sent off for fouling County’s Alex Schalk in the box.

Martin Woods scored from the resultant penalty and the teams went in level at the break.

Paul Quinn headed a second shortly after half time and Schalk hammered in the 63rd minute to give County a 3-1 lead.

The Hoops were given a lifeline near the end when referee Craig Thompson awarded a soft penalty however Scott Fox saved Leigh Griffiths’ effort and the Staggies held on to secure a famous win.
