Hearts lifted the East of Scotland Shield for the first time in ten years after defeating Hibernian 3-1 at Tynecastle on Saturday.

Goals from Dale Baxter, Russell McLean and Euan Henderson meant the Shield – contested at U18s level – would be the latest addition to the Tynecastle trophy room. Jamie Gullane scored Hibs solitary counter.

The East of Scotland Shield was founded in 1875 and is the third-oldest annual tournament in world football.

Hearts: Mason, Hamilton, Reid, Baur, Jones, McKirdy, Morrison, I. Smith, McLean, Baxter (Irving, 77′), Moore (Henderson, 67′).

Hibs: Goodfellow, Donaldson, Stirling, Waugh, Porteous, A. Smith, Watson, Breen (Galantes, 84′), Shaw, Gullane, Murray.

Referee: Jordan Brown
