A Hibernian Development Squad featuring Adam Eckersley, Farid El Alagui, Jamie Insall and Jordon Forster (pictured) suffered a 3-0 loss away to Rangers yesterday.
After a goalless first half Rangers took the lead through Ross McRorie then Ryan Hardie scored two goals within a minute midway through the second half to secure the victory.
After the game Joe McBride, Hibs’ U20 Development Coach told the club website “The second and third goals were certainly individual errors on our part as young Kevin Waugh and Callum Donaldson gave the ball away.
“The first goal was a short corner and we had two players out at it, but they didn’t stop the cross and I’ll see the footage for the marking at the corner again.”
“We were resolute in the first half, but we didn’t play when we won the ball and it was to route one going up to the front, there was no flow to our game at all.
“In the first half one part of the game was okay, but the other part was not so good. In the second half when we lost the goals it was a much more open game.”
Hibernian Development Squad: Brennan, Dunsmore, Forster, Waugh, Eckersley (Donaldson, 53), Stirling, Martin (Duthie, 59), Murray, Insall, El Alagui, Shaw (Breen, 72). Unused substitutes: Costello, Watson, Smith, Scott.
