A 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of a car from the north of Edinburgh last week.
At around 12:25pm on Friday (Sept 25), a silver-coloured Honda CRV containing a two-year-old Beagle, was stolen from a property in Willowbank Row.
The pet was later reunited with its owner after being found safe and well.
The accused is due to appear from custody before Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
Detective Constable Alison Wyllie said: “Following an extensive inquiry local officers quickly traced and then arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with this theft.
“I want to reassure the public that vehicle crime is completely unacceptable and we are committed to using all resources at our disposal in order to arrest and charge those who take part in this criminal activity.
