The 69TH Edinburgh Taxi Trade Children’s Outing took place today with a send off from the Lord Provost and well-known Edinburgh fundraiser, Tom Gilzean. Here’s Tom leading them off on their trip!

The trip is organised and funded by taxi drivers and gives a day out to the beach for children with special needs, life-limiting conditions and terminal illnesses.
The taxis were all decorated with balloons or decorated as floats
They assembled at the ice rink car park at Murrayfield Stadium early today when judging and presentation of prizes took place for best float taxi, best balloon taxi, best fancy dressed driver and best fancy dressed child.
They then left Murrayfield heading under Police escort through the city and along the coast to Yellowcraigs (near Dirleton, East Lothian) for a fun-filled afternoon before heading home about 4pm.
We are sure there are some tired wee souls tonight! (and then there are the children…..)
