Flags are flying at half mast today over the City Chambers and other council owned buildings such as The Assembly Rooms in George Street as a mark of respect for those who were killed and injured in Glasgow yesterday.
Edinburgh’s Lord Provost, Councillor Donald Wilson, responded to the tragic events:
“Like most people across Scotland, I was shocked to learn of the tragic events in Glasgow yesterday.
“On behalf of the people of Edinburgh, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the people of Glasgow and our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those involved. I have written to the Rt Hon Lord Provost Sadie Docherty to offer our condolences and our support at this time.
Flags at the City Chambers and other Council buildings will fly at half mast on 23 December.”
