There was a serious road collision yesterday evening on the A772 at Gilmerton near Dobbies.
Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses.
The incident occurred around 7.30pm A Ford Fiesta, a Ford C Max and an Audi A4 were involved. A police car was in the vicinity of this collision at the time.
Three people were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to be treated for injuries.
The road was closed while police carried out an investigation into this collision.
Inspector Tracey Robinson said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to contact police on 101.”
