An incident in Raeburn Place yesterday evening resulted in a young man being taken to hospital. Police Scotland are seeking witnesses.
Enquiries are underway after a 24-year-old man was seen to fall from a moving vehicle believed to be a white Ford transit van at around 5.25pm on Friday 1st August.
The vehicle did not stop and instead made off at speed from the incident, driving erratically through the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh.
The van is understood to have had two male occupants and the driver was wearing a white t-shirt. And it is believed the vehicle was also being driven in a similar, erratic manner in Deanhaugh Street shortly beforehand.
The man who fell from the van was taken to hospital but did not suffer any serious injuries.
Detective Sergeant Bob Williamson of Gayfield CID said: “Our officers are working hard and making extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
“The events described and the irresponsible actions of the van driver are obviously concerning and we would urge members of the public who may be able to identify the vehicle or its occupants to come forward immediately.
“Anyone with information that could help the investigation should contact Police Scotland on 101 or, alternatively, phone the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
