Hibs’ Head Coach Alan Stubbs is pleased to have been handed a home tie in the second round of the Scottish League Cup after the club were drawn to face Dumbarton at Easter Road (26/27 August).
Hibs were the first club to be drawn out of the hat and will face fellow Scottish Championship club Dumbarton, who are managed by former captain Ian Murray.
Dumbarton will then return back to Leith eight weeks later for a league fixture on Saturday 11 October.
Speaking to hibernianfc.co.uk, Stubbs said: “I’m glad that we’ve been drawn at home – that’s a real positive and we’re confident we can get a result against anybody at Easter Road.
“Nevertheless it will be a difficult match against a well-organised team that love to attack and then we’ll have to face them again in the league just over a month later at Easter Road.
“It will be nice to welcome back two former Hibs players, Ian Murray and Guillaume Beuzelin, who I’ve met since I joined the club and it promises to be a fantastic Cup tie.”
