A woman has been taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after being struck by a First bus in Princes Street opposite Waverley Station.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 9am this morning.
Tram services to York Place were suspended for around an hour and the road was closed eastbound along with South St Andrews Street and West Register Street.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police responded to Princes Street at around 9am on Tuesday 8th July, following a collision involving a female pedestrian and a bus.
“The woman has been conveyed to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries and the eastbound lane of Princes Street, South St Andrews Street and West Register Street are currently closed
