Hibs will face Rangers at Ibrox in the first round of the Petrofac Training Cup, whilst Hearts welcome Annan Athletic to Tynecastle and Spartans take on Morton in Greenock.
The draw was made at Easter Road yesterday with the teams split into two sections, north and south.
New Hibs Head Coach Alan Stubbs told the club website: “I’m really excited about the draw.
“Facing Rangers at Ibrox will be a massive game and a great early test for us at the start of the season.”
The first round ties are due to be played on 26 July, but Rangers’ match against Hibs will be rearranged due to the Commonwealth Games being held in Glasgow.
