Hibs’ captain Liam Craig has helped to launch the first ever SPFL sticker collection at the club’s training centre.
The album is published by leading collectables company Topps, and this is the first time since the 1970s that a sticker album has featured every Scottish professional club.
Craig said: “It’s great to see the official Topps SPFL Sticker Album features all the clubs in Scottish football. I know Hibernian fans of all ages will be keen to complete their collections. The fact that this is the first all through album in nearly 40 years means that it is a real collector’s item.”
Rod Pearson, marketing director at Topps, said: “This inaugural official collection celebrates the new SPFL formation and marks an historic moment, being the first and only sticker collectible to feature players from all four leagues.
“It’s packed with star players from everyone’s favourite clubs and offers fans a brand new, fun-filled and exciting way to support their team.”
A 48-page album accompanies the brand new collection, which is full of player stats, team information and all the biggest stars of the SPFL, making this first-ever edition an ideal accompaniment to the season. The Topps 2014 Scottish Professional Football League Official Sticker collection is available from supermarkets and all good local independent newsagents.
Fans can kick-start their collection in style with a starter pack (£2), which includes a 48-page album and four packets of stickers, giving collectors everything they need to get straight into the action.
Packets of five stickers are available for 50p each.
Craig also revealed that he has already been impressed by the three new loan deals, Danny Haynes whom he played with at Ipswich, Duncan Watmore and Daniel Boateng.
He said: “It’s always good when new faces come in, it gives the place a lift with fresh competition for places. From what the guys are showing in training the fans should be excited. Even at the back with Daniel he tries to get forward and Duncan and Danny are really positive and creative in what they do.
“I think the break has helped us because we have players back from suspension and injury so it will be a much bigger squad for the manager to pick from.”
“With Kevin (Moon) and Liam Fox in the middle of the park they have two very good football players there. Fraser Mullen’s gone there and they have Joe Cardle on the wing so there are one or two players there that can cause us problems if we’re not at it, but if we are professional and approach the game with the right mentality then we will go on and win the game.”
