Jason Cummings has been called up into the Scotland under-19 squad for next month’s friendly against Switzerland at the Energy Asset Arena (Wednesday 5 March, kick off 2pm).

The 18-year-old has been in prolific form for Hibernian under-20s so far this season and has contributed an impressive 17 goals in the SPFL U20 League.

As a result, the former Hutchison Vale forward has been handed a call-up into Ricky Sbragia’s squad ahead of the UEFA under-19 European Championships, which take place in England in May.

Cummings said: “I’m really pleased to get called up for Scotland under-19s and I’m really looking forward to being a part of the match in two weeks.”

The Hibs’ youngster joins Hearts’ teenagers Sam Nicholson and Gary Oliver in the squad along with former Hearts’ midfielder Adam King who joined Swansea City during the January transfer window.

Scotland Under-19 coach Ricky Sbragia has named a 22-player squad for the forthcoming Vauxhall Under-19 International Challenge Match against Switzerland being played at The Energy Assets Arena in Livingston on Wednesday, 5th March.

Scotland will use the match to prepare for the UEFA European Under-19 Championship elite round which takes place in England in May.

As well as the group hosts, Scotland will also face Ukraine and Montenegro, with the group winners advancing to this summer’s finals to be held in Hungary.

The match will kick off at 2pm and tickets are available on the gate at £5 for adults and FREE* for under-16s.
