The companies have the support of the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations and of Cena Brasil Internacional Theatre Festival, who in turn has partnered up with the Edinburgh Fringe.
For the first time in its history, the Fringe welcomes the Brazilian Theatre Season which brings the latest theatrical productions from across the South American country.
The organisers say:-“It is our pleasure to present Caixa do Elefante Teatro de Bonecos (Box Elephant Puppet Theatre), from Porto Alegre, with the show “The Weaver”, Teatro Máquina (Machine Theatre), from Fortaleza, with the spectacle “Leonce and Lena”, and two companies from Rio de Janeiro; Amok Teatro (Amok Theatre) with the show “Kabul” and Armazém Cia de Teatro (The Warehouse Theatre Company) with the spectacle “Water Stain”.
With this collaboration we hope to offer a small but diverse sample of our theatrical productions and provide visitors to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with knowledge of our art, poetry, and culture.”
