Some readers are still reporting problems with uncollected rubbish. One of our readers who tweeted to us this morning, albeit as a last resort, has had the problem rubbish outside his house dealt with today. But, the Environment Convener is aware that there have been problems across the city with people simply depositing their rubbish next to bins which are already overflowing, only adding to the problems.

Barnardo’s Scotland is pleased to announce that tickets for the MGA Academy show ‘A Christmas Wish’ on Saturday, 15 December, are now on sale from the Usher Hall box office, with proceeds from the show going towards helping the most vulnerable children in Scotland.
This event, billed as, ‘an evening extravaganza of song, dance and festive cheer’ is a magical winter spectacle which involves over 200 young people taking to the stage and warming your hearts with a selection of Christmas themed performances from an immensely talented cast.
A Christmas Wish has been produced in aid of children’s charity Barnardo’s Scotland.

Scotland’s Makar, Liz Lochhead will be appearing at the Central Library on 15 November 2012 in a free event . The Edinburgh libraries blog Tales of One City explains:-

And in today’s Daily Record it is reported that the Carlton Highland Hotel has cancelled a party which they discovered would be for swingers. The hotel was fearful for its reputation.
