Hundreds of people took to social media this week to praise the actions of Edinburgh Police Dog Ninja and her handler.
On Monday 10 March officers were called to the scene of a housebreaking in the Leith area.
Ninja and her handler also attended and as a result Police Scotland have now confirmed that a A 23-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested and charged with breaking into the property.
Edinburgh Division posted details of the arrest.
The post on facebook read: “After a break in to an address in Leith last night, #PDNinja & her leash holder went to help.
“After a bit of garden hopping, they traced a suspect and he was arrested.
“They then did a further search & found something he didn’t want us to find.
The post received almost 100 comments, all positive praising both Ninja and her handler and was liked by around 1,500 readers.
The pair are expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 8 April 2025.
