Names are now being taken for the first match in the popular Edinburgh Winter Shore League sponsored by The Edinburgh Angling Centre and Cox and Rawle.

Match One: 18.10.2024: Newhaven (east, by David Lloyd) with registration at Western Harbour View EH6 6PG; Match 2: 25.10.2024: Joppa with registration at Promenade View EH15 2ES; Match 3: 8.11.2024: Newhaven (west by the lighthouse) with registration at Western Harbour Breakwater EH6 6PA.
Match 4: 22.11.2024: Newhaven (east) with registration at Western Harbour View EH6 6PG; Match 5: 29.11.2024: Portobello Beach with registration at Tumbles Car Park EH15 1DR; Match 6: 6.12.2024: Newhaven (west) registration at Western Harbour Breakwater EH6 6PA; Match 7: 20.12.2024: Newhaven (east) with registration at Western Harbour View EH6 6PG.
Registration is from 6pm to 6.15pm and fishing from 7pm to 10pm.
The Bass Rock Shore Angling League host the first match in their winter series on Wednesday, October 16, and it is a pegged event on Seacliffe Beach in East Lothian with registration at the toilet block car park from 6pm to 6.30pm.
Fishing is from 7pm to 10pm and it is a £10 entry will full payout.
James Ogilvie, secretary, said the event location has been picked to help the St Abbs Research Centre see what effect undersea power cables and wind turbines are having on fish.
