For the last couple of weeks or so travellers have been occupying the playing fields beside Drumbrae Leisure Centre.

Locals have reported horse trailers, caravans, dogs and horses. A Sheriff Court order was issued and appears to have had the desired effect.

The community has now moved on on Sunday – leaving behind a huge mess for the council to clean up – including a live chicken.

Transport and Environment Convener Scott Arthur said: “We’re aware that there has been a considerable amount of waste left in Drumbrae Park. It’s always really disappointing to see our public sites left in an unusable state, spoiling our beautiful city. The selfish actions of a few in so many cases can really affect those living in a local community.

“We’ve checked the site this morning and will commence clean up as soon as possible.”



During this last week there have been reports of a pony called Nibbles tethered there, and young people riding motorbikes without helmets. But this is the scene today:
