The Masterton T20 cricket trophy will take place under a new format in Edinburgh on Sunday, 7 July.

Instead of a one-off final the four semi-finalists, who have qualified through group play, will meet at Raeburn Place to decide the trophy.

Holders Carlton will get proceedings underway at 10am against Royal High Corstorphine.

This will be followed by Heriot’s against the host club Grange.

The final will take place later in the afternoon.

Organisers estimate that up to seven players who represented Scotland in the recent T20 world cup in the West Indies could participate.

Winners will go forward to play counterparts from the other Scottish regions to determine national champions.
