Indie News Week event in Edinburgh

This takes place between 3 and 9 June – and there is an event taking place in Edinburgh.

Drem to Gullane path

The local community council have now voted to make the delivery of this path a priority. The Drem-Gullane path campaign is now almost 20 years old. It will be a great day when the walking cycling and wheeling path is opened to take people safely from one village to the other.

Community Hero awards

Ian Murray the Scottish Labour candidate for Edinburgh South handed out two community hero awards before demoting office as the MP last Thursday.

The first award he gave to Neil Roger from Friends of the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links (FoMBL) for all the work he has done to improve the area with tree planting and much other work.

The second he gave to David Dempster the headteacher at Boroughmuir High School who is retiring after 41 years in education.
