Castlebrae Make Music Day

Castlebrae Community High School are holding a day of music at Craigmillar Castle next Friday.

There are two concerts – all being performed for free from 11.30am in the Great Hall and in the Castle Courtyard. There will be a pipe band playing on the rampart and Scottish Chamber Orchestra musicians supporting the school pupils who will be creating the music.

And there are canapés!

Free tickets can be reserved by phoning the school on 0131 662 1282 and picking them up from the reception at Castlebrae Community Campus. There is no parking at the event but access is quick and easy through the park from Peffermill Road. If anyone needs a disabled space or access then contact the school.

Charity Walk

Sign up now to Walk for a Cure which takes place on 23 June from 10am. The walk will begin in Holyrood Gardens just off Queens Drive and the circular route will also finish there. Full details can be found here: Walk for a Cure (alzheimersresearchuk.org)

This is part of a UK-wide series of fundraising 5K walks. This is the second year the Walk For A Cure series will take place and after the success of last year the number of events have grown from three to six this year.

Election Hustings

Southside Community Centre are holding an election hustings on 25 June 2024 from 2pm. They believe that some of the electorate in Edinburgh East and Musselburgh will be more liable to attend a hustings which takes place in the afternoon.
