Stellar Monarchs and the Glasgow Allied Vehicles Tigers clash, weather permitting, on Friday (tapes-up 7.30pm) and winner moves through to the semi-final of the British Speedway Network Series.

Monarchs won at Glasgow to put themselves at the top of the section, but the losing team on Friday, even if they gain a point and only lose on the Superheat result, will not go through.

Workington and Scunthorpe are already in the semi-finals from the Northern group and either Poole or Plymouth will qualify from the southern group.

Monarchs No 1, Josh Pickering, is not fit and former Monarchs’ star Craig Cook (pictured), who has also ridden for Tigers, will guest. Cook scored an excellent 14 in Monarchs’ defeat at Oxford on Wednesday and is in good form.

Alex Harkess, Monarchs’ team manager, said: “It is in our hands. We rode very well through there so, on the surface, we have nothing to fear.

“The only result that matters is that we win and let’s hope we can do that. If they (the riders) all produce what they are capable of, then we should be fine.”

Friday’s match will be live streamed and details are on www.edinburghmonarchs.co.uk.

STELLAR MONARCHS: Craig Cook (guest), Lasse Fredriksen, Kye Thomson, Paco Castagna (captain), Justin Sedgmen, Max James, Connor Coles.

ALLIED VEHICLES TIGERS: Chris Harris (captain), Paul Starke, Leon Flint, James Pearson, Steve Worrall, Jack Smith, Ace Pijper.
