The Scotland women’s rugby team were resoundingly beaten on Saturday by England at Edinburgh’s Hive Stadium.

The last two matches have ended with a narrow win over Wales and a defeat against France more recently.

But the match against England was an embarrassing result with the visitors scoring 46 points against a home team who failed to put any points on the board. Even a record sell out crowd of 7,774 could not rouse the women.

England scored the points from eight tries by Cokayne,Dow, Kildunne, Kabeya, Breach and Packer. Cokayne was sent off for a second yellow card, but that and the very windy conditions did not prevent the English side from achieving their third win from three matches.
