The Red House Hotel in Coupar Angus has been named Best Budget Friendly Golf Hotel in the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards.

The awards, now in their 11th year, aim to highlight and celebrate the outstanding achievements within the Scottish golf tourism industry by recognising the finest courses, hotels and experiences that have helped shape Scotland’s reputation as a world-class golfing destination.

Along with recognising a variety of prestigious Championship courses, the awards uncover many hidden gems across parkland and links courses around the country. They also recognise the huge contribution that hospitality offers to visiting golfers – a reflection of what constitutes a truly warm, Scottish welcome to tourists.

It’s the latest win for The Red House Hotel in these awards, as the Hotel picked up Best Small Golf Hotel (20 rooms or less) in 2016, as well as achieving nominations in other years.

The Red House Hotel was awarded the title of Best Budget Friendly Golf Hotel as, according to the judges, “it best catered for the needs of visiting golfers, enjoyed a strong location, with excellent accessibility to numerous local golf courses, exceled at customer service, offered great value dining at an affordable price, and generally delivered a positive experience for all guests.”

Owner Alan Bannerman said: “We are delighted to pick up this latest accolade from the Scottish Golf Tourism Awards. These are the most prestigious awards in Scotland for all businesses associated with Golf. We are really pleased that 2024 has proved to be our year once again.”

“Best Budget Friendly Golf Hotel is exactly what we are about. We excel at giving golfers a fantastic value for money service. Our prices are affordable, meaning they can get away to golf with their friends, whilst our experienced staff really enjoy looking after them. We see many of the same faces repeatedly back to us year after year so we know we are doing something right.

“Being close to so many amazing golf courses means we have the edge location wise, as well. Blairgowrie Golf Course, just along the road, with its two fantastic courses, is a tremendous venue. We always try to offer our guests the best preferential rates at time of booking for a whole host of courses throughout the area. It’s year round trade now, but it really “tees off” properly after Easter. We’ll be delighted to display our latest certificate in the hotel letting new golfing customers know all about our history in this competition.

“I’d like to thank all my staff who work so hard in this area, ensuring that our golfers have the best time possible.”
