Yan Dhanda is heading for Tynecastle from Ross County, according to media reports, and the Gorgie club could try to push through a permanent deal before the transfer window closes at 23.30 on Thursday.

The 25-year-old has impressed this term and scored a stunning goal with a sweetly taken right foot shot from a free-kick just outside the box as cinch Premiership strugglers, Ross County, went 2-0 ahead after 61 minutes in Gorgie. They were eventually pegged back and earned a point in a 2-2 draw at Hearts on December 30.

News reports indicate that the Edinburgh club have agreed a pre-contract deal for the talented player.

The Englishman from Tipton is out of contract at the end of the season and his form has been such that he has caught the eye of several clubs.

County are second bottom of the cinch Premiership and visit bottom club Livingston on Tuesday in a critical game for both clubs.

Midlands-born Dhanda, described as an attacking midfielder or winger, started his youth career at West Bromwich Albion in 2008 before moving to Liverpool five years later.

He stayed there for five years before moving to Swansea City in 2018 and he made 50 appearances. He scored five goals for the Welsh club.

The Staggies signed the player in 2022 and he has made 49 appearances, scoring seven goals and Dhanda has international experience having twice played for England under-16 and pm four occasions for the national under-17 side.

County’s new boss, Derek Adams, does not want to lose the talented player who captains the Highland outfit but money could talk and, or course, Steven Naismith (pictured), Heart’s head coach, still hopes to land a loan move for Scott Fraser from London side Charlton.
