Fife Flyers are back on duty this weekend with a double-header against Scottish rivals Glasgow Clan and must re-group after a double whammy against Dundee Stars.
They lost 4-2 at home to the Tayside team on Boxing Day and then 10-1 at The Dundee Ice Arena only 24-hours later to leave the men from The Fife Ice Arena propping up the rest of the Elite League.
A devastating eight minute spell in the second period at Dundee when Stars fired six goals took the game away from Fife after they were only 2-0 down after the first 20 minutes.
Fife claimed a consolation goal through Lucas Chiodo with less than nine minutes left but coach Tom Coolen said: “There is no use crying about it.”
Four defenceman were out along with No 1 goaltender, Shane Owen, and Andy Little was playing his first game in two years, said the coach who added: “We’re in a tough period.”
Fife travel to Clan on Saturday (19.00) and entertain Glasgow on Sunday at 17.00.
