ScotRail services to and from Edinburgh will be unaffected during industrial action taking place on Thursday 20th, Saturday 22nd and Saturday 29th July 2023

Phil Campbell, Head of Customer Operations at ScotRail confirmed that the dispute between the trade unions and other train operators does not involve any ScotRail staff.

He said: “The dispute between the trade unions and other train operators does not involve any ScotRail staff, which means we’ll be able to run our services as normal during the latest industrial action.

“A small number of ScotRail services to and from Carlisle will see some disruption, so customers travelling on this route should check their train times before leaving for the station.

“We’d also encourage anyone travelling to plan their journey in advance, as we’re expecting our trains to be busier than normal due to customers of other operators travelling with ScotRail.”

Only a small number of ScotRail services travelling to and from Carlisle will face disruption.

Customers on these trains are advised by ScotRail to check train times before and after leaving the station.

As members of the RMT trade union and the train drivers’ union, ASLEF, take part in the industrial action this Thursday, Edinburgh commuters are to expect operating trains to be busier than usual due to other operators affected by the industrial action.
