Police have seized two off-road bikes after damage causes to farmer’s field in East Lothian near to MacMerry.

Officers deployed a stinger to puncture the wheels of one of the bikes, which brought it to a halt. The other bike was later found abandoned and has been seized.

Police dog’s attended the scene on Saturday and helped trace the riders. One man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for “numerous offences”.

The incident was reported on Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit’s Twitter account which read: “#DalkeithRP & #EdinburghRP seized two off road bikes near MacMerry after being used in farmers fields causing damage.

“Stinger deployed, bringing one to a halt and the other was found abandoned.

“Two males traced by @polscotdogs and one reported to Procurator Fiscal for numerous offences”
