Lidl has just opened its largest Scottish store in West Granton Road.

This was the first Lidl store opened in 1995, but it has now been extended and refurbished making it the largest shop in the chain at 1,438 square metres.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Gordon Rafferty, commented: “Today is a significant milestone for us here at Lidl. Opening the doors after an extension, to showcase our largest store in Scotland represents our commitment to continuing to invest and expand across the country.

“The store will bring even more great products and fantastic offers to Edinburgh residents as well as showcasing some of the incredible Scottish produce we stock throughout the year.”

During the first week of opening customers will find exclusive deals and offers on selected products including a Vileda vacuum cleaning robot (£49.99, available Saturday, 10 October) and a Toshiba 43” full HD smart TV (£129.00, available Saturday, 10 October), and a Silvercrest stand mixer (£19.99, available Friday, 9 October).

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s £1.45bn investment in its expansion across Great Britain in 2019 and 2020. Lidl has over 100 stores in Scotland.
