Edinburgh Gin will open its distillery and visitor experience in Rutland Place on Saturday 1 August 2020 and you can book your visit now.

The distillery has obtained the VisitScotland ‘We’re Good to Go’ seal of approval. This means that the management has put all the necessary processes in place to comply with government and public health guidance. You will be required to wear a mask at all times during your visit.

The visit offers an insight into how gin is made and the history of Edinburgh Gin. You can view the gin stills through protective windows and learn about the botanicals which are used to create the range which Edinburgh Gin now have.

Distillery tastings can be organised for a maximum of eight people from four households. It is essential to book in advance as there are up to four one-hour tours available each day. Distillery staff will offer closed bottles to visitors to help themselves during the visit. There will be hygiene stations at regular intervals as you can see in the video below.

Neil Boyd, UK Managing Director of Ian Macleod Distillers, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming visitors back to the Edinburgh Gin distillery. It goes without saying that it has been an incredibly difficult time for many and, while we continued distilling during lockdown, it just hasn’t been the same without our wonderful guests.

“Our team have been working hard to ensure we have measures in place to keep people safe, while allowing them to enjoy their experience.

“We’ll continue to work closely with the Scottish Government and public health bodies to review our measures and will communicate any further changes with our drinkers.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors back to learn about Edinburgh Gin’s wonder-filled world of gin.”
